The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into an incident in which more than 40 headstones were recently damaged at a cemetery in the town of Sully.

According to the sheriff’s office, sometime between May 11th and May 14th, un unknown person or persons inflicted damage to 43 headstones at the Bethany Cemetery.

An account has since been set up at the First State Bank in Sully to raise donations for the repairs, which are estimated to cost $1,400.

To make a monetary donation toward the needed repairs, you can mail a check to the First State Bank at P.O. Box 187, Lynnville, Iowa 50153.

Checks can be made payable to the Bethel Cemetery Fund.
