The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released its weekly fuel report for the week of May 19-25, 2022.
As of Wednesday, May 25th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $4.23 across Iowa, according to Triple-A.
Prices rose 8 cents from last week’s price and were a $1.34 higher than one year ago.
The national average on Wednesday was $4.60, up 3 cents rom last week’s price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 6 cents this week wit ha statewide average of $5.20.
A year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.05 in Iowa.
The current Iowa diesel price is 34 cents less than the national average of $5.54.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16 a gallon.
