Police in Ames have released new information on an attempted murder investigation which initially began on Monday.
At 12:45 a.m. Monday, the Ames Police Department responded to Mary Greeley Hospital for a victim wit ha reported gunshot wound.
Upon further investigation, officers learned that the shooting had occurred a few minutes earlier in the 600 block of South 17th Street.
The Ames Police Department has now identified the suspect in the case and formally charged a 15-year-old male juvenile with “Attempt to Commit Murder,” a Class B Felony.
The juvenile has been taken into custody and transported to juvenile detention.
The victim in the shooting, 18-year-old Anthony Davis of Ames, remains hospitalized in stable condition.
The case remains under investigation and additional charges are pending.
