An Eldora man has been found guilty by a Hardin County jury of sexually abusing and assaulting two women at an Eldora residence last November an likely faces time in prison.
On Wednesday, 29-year-old Phillip Smith was convicted of Third-Degree Sexual Abuse and two assault counts stemming from an incident that occurred on Nov. 30th of last year.
The women told police that Smith showed up uninvited at the home and then forced one of them to consume a bottle of vodka, otherwise he would choke her.
He then grabbed the woman by the throat and groped her genitals when she attempted to get away from him. The women eventually managed to escape and fled to the home of a nearby family member. When they returned home, they discovered Smith was still present. Smith later sexually assaulted the woman who was not forced to drink.
Prosecutors say Smith faces up to 11 years in prison. A sentencing hearing has been set for July 18th.
