Guests staying at an Ames hotel were awakened by local fire crews early Saturday morning after a blaze broke out inside, which subsequently led to the hotel being evacuated.

Shortly before 2:00 a.m., the Ames Fire Department was called to the Hilton Garden Inn located at 1325 Dickinson Avenue.

The caller reported smoke filling the entire third-floor hallway of the hotel.

Firefighters quickly located and extinguished the fire, which had been contained by the fire sprinkler system.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

All hotel guests were relocated to another nearby hotel.
