Organizers involved with this year’s fifth annual “Cruise for a Cause” fundraiser held Thursday evening at Glenwood Place in Marshalltown say that the event was an overwhelming success.

A record number of people turned out for this year’s event with $3,385 being raised on Thursday to help benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

Local organizers say additional monies from the event are still coming in, which will be added to this year’s overall fundraising total.
