Auditor of State Rob Sand on Wednesday released an audit report on Jasper County, Iowa for the fiscal year ending June 30th of 2021.

The report revealed that the county’s revenues for the period totaled thirty-three-point-five million dollars, which is a 1.5 percent increase over the prior year.

Expenses for county operations for the same period totaled twenty-seven-point-six million dollars, a decrease of 2.9 percent from the prior year.

Auditor of State Sand reported ten findings related to the receipt and expenditure of taxpayer funds.

The findings address issues such as lack of segregation of duties, material amounts of revenues, accounts receivables, accounts payable, prepaid expenses and infrastructure additions not properly recorded in the county’s financial statements and disbursements exceeding budgeted amounts prior to amendment.
