The Marshall County Supervisors approved extending a lease agreement currently in place with the Mid-Iowa Antique Power Association for a ten-year period through June of 2034 during their regular meeting on Tuesday.
The lease agreement, which involves 51 acres of tillable property, was approved at an annual cost of $6,375.
The board also discussed a potential land purchase with the city of Marshalltown involving property located on East Boone Street. The property, if acquired by the county, would essentially be utilized by the county secondary road department. County Engineer Paul Geilenfeldt noted that a land survey of the property is currently ongoing to determine what change or adjustments would need to be made with the property before a land purchase agreement is formally negotiated by the county.
The board also approved a designated funding appropriation for the county for fiscal year 2022-23 totaling thirty-nine-point-four million dollars in keeping in line with the county’s current fiscal operating budget.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the board also approved a memorandum of understanding between Central Iow Community Services and Marshall County.
Supervisors also approved the hiring of Cassandra Gerstandt as a new full-time employee in the Auditor/Recorder’s office at a starting rate of $19.25 per hour.
The board also approved the abatement of taxes for 122 real estate and mobile home properties that are currently owned by the City of Marshalltown.
