Six Nevada High School FFA members recently traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in the National FFA Leadership Conference.

The conference provided FFA members with premier leadership experience while exposing them to the rich history of Washington D.C.

Activities included daily leadership sessions which focused on team building, advocacy for people in need, inclusiveness, diversity, and a service project that involved packaging 60,000 meals.

In addition, the students also visited the Lincoln Memorial, WW II Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Other sites the students visited included the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, Jefferson Memorial, and the Martin Luther King Memorial.

The Nevada FFA Chapter provided $72,000 of Leadership Scholarships to help cover the cost of the trip.
