A change of command appears to be in the works for the Marshalltown YMCA/YWCA.

Carol Hibbs, who has served as CEO for the Y for more than two decades, has announced she will be stepping down from that position at the end of the current year.

A search for a new CEO for the Y is currently under way.

According to Hibbs, the position is now being advertised on various websites including the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce and indeed.com, as well as the National YMCA Job Posting Website in an effort to find a qualified candidate for the position after she steps down at the end of the is year.

A local search committee has also been formed in an effort to find a suitable replacement for the position.

Hibbs says she hopes to do everything she can to help make the hiring process as smooth and efficient as possible.

With the current year nearing the halfway point, officials involved with the search process are striving to move quickly in an effort to make a firm and confident decision on a new replacement by year’s end.
