MOISTURE LEVELS CONTINUE TO FALL IN IOWA, ACCORDING TO THIS WEEK’S CROP REPORT FROM THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE. TOPSOIL MOISTURE DROPPED TO 51% ADEQUATE TO SURPLUS, AND SUBSOIL MOISTURE IS DOWN TO 54% ADEQUATE TO SURPLUS. BECAUSE OF THE DRY CONDITIONS, ALMOST THE ENTIRE WEEK WAS SUITABLE FOR FIELD WORK. THE CORN CROP IS RATED 76% GOOD TO EXCELLENT, AND SOYBEANS ARE 73% GOOD TO EXCELLENT.
