The field is set!  The playoffs will be here Friday starting with the Wild Card round.  This is the first season of expanded playoffs for MLB.  There are 3 wild card teams along with the 3 division champions.  The best 2 records in each league get a round 1 bye, while the other 4 teams will play a best of 3 series.  AL wild card teams playing Friday are, Mariners vs Blue Jays and Rays vs (division champion) Guardians.  Astros and Yankees earned the first round bye.  NL Wild Card games on Friday will have, Padres vs Mets and Phillies vs (Division winner) Cardinals.  Dodgers and Braves earned the first round bye.  This is when pitching matters and every team has a chance.  The 2019 Washington Nationals surprised everyone when they won it all, will there be a similar team this season?  We will find out starting Friday.
