Iowa River Hospice celebrated National Hospice and Palliative Care Month on Thursday morning with a Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting. Pamela Wells and Sara Riley from Iowa River Hospice joined KFJB earlier this week to talk about the Hospice Home. There are 3 levels of care they provide, the first is acute care
The third is an outpatient base. Sara tells me that they always keep 1 bed free for outpatients that could pop up at any time. Sara mentions why we are lucky to have a hospice home in Marshalltown. Especially if you are a caregiver, the hospice home can give you a much needed breather.
The Hospice Home runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week, which requires an experienced and dedicated staff. Sara praises her 15 staff members for all they do to keep the Hospice Home running.
