As the world has changed through the last few years, our services also need to change.  The Marshalltown Library saw a shift in the last few years from hard copies to digital.  Marshalltown Public Library has noticed this shift and is investing more in the digital world. Youth Services Coordinator Joa LaVille said that on the children’s side, Playaway audiobooks saw a huge surge in popularity, and it was another strong year overall.  The top ebook from the Marshalltown Public Library in 2022 was The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah.  Although it will be difficult to top all of the excitement of 2022 at the MPL, 2023 will mark the 125th anniversary of a public library service in Marshalltown, and Rosenblum and her board of trustees are already planning events in its honor.
