Kim-Jass Ramirez took over as the new CEO of the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA on January 1st of this year. Kim has a long history working for many different YMCAs throughout her career.
She thought the Y was a good connection as she was a former athlete at Wartburg playing both Volleyball and Softball. Once she started with the Y, she hasn’t left. She then moved to Dakalb, Cedar Rapids, and finally back to Marshalltown. While in Cedar Rapids, or Marion, she was the branch director.
Kim joined the Marshalltown Y as a development director after learning a lot about development in Cedar Rapids. Development, or fundraising, is not always something think of when working with kids, Kim was able to be successful with the right mindset.
Kim has seen all sides of the YMCA organization and was most recently in the facilities and program director role. Seeing the big picture gives her an advantage as a CEO. Kim is excited to start this role here in Marshalltown.
Kim is excited to be in this role and loves working in this community. She mentions again and again, how supportive the Marshalltown community is.
