Tie blankets are being donated to the Tama County Stork’s Nest and Iowa City Stead Children’s Hospital that were made by residents at Sunny Hill Care Center. The residents hope to make 4 blankets a month to donate to the two charities. Local community members can help by contributing fleece materials for the blankets. The residents need two 1 ¼ yards for each blanket. If you’d like to donate, contact Mary Jo at Sunny Hill Care Center by email at maryjo@sunnyhillcarecenter.com. Crafts are a big part of the programs that the residents do. Starting February 22 Sunny Hill Care Center will host Craft Activities for 3rd through 5th graders once a month. Students will work hand-in-hand with the residents to make a different craft each month. There is no cost to the students to attend and they get to keep the craft at the end of the night.
