The Democratic National Committee met on Saturday and revoked Iowas first in the nation caucus status. South Carolina will be going first on Feb. 3, 2024, followed by New Hampshire and Nevada three days later. Then Georgia on Feb. 13 and Michigan on Feb. 27. The 2020 Iowa Caucus had some issues as results were not finalized for multiples days. Iowa stays ready, though, Iowa has offered to fill in if any of those dates opens up for some reason. Rita Hart, Iowa Democratic Party Chair, was at the meeting in Philadelphia over the weekend, she testified that the rules are changing for the caucus and it will be a simplified vote-by-mail process that will increase accessibility and grow the party. While Iowa Democrats stay optimistic, the process for the next election will look different.
