Becky Hassett, Director of Support for Iowa Valley, joined KFJB to tell us about the Intro to Energy Basics Program that high schoolers can take.

The course is a total of 13 weeks and meets every Thursday from 1 to 3 pm in a virtual setting.  Since the course is offered virtually it has some perks.  One is that any high school Junior or Senior can take the class

This course gives students a peak behind the curtain at places like Alliant Energy as they partner with Iowa Valley.

The course gives high schoolers the opportunity to get their feet wet in the energy field and see if this could be something that they would want to pursue.  For more information you can visit their website at iavalley.edu
