The Marshalltown Arts and Civic Center was buzzing last night as the Community Foundation of Marshall County held their annual award ceremony.  The Community Foundation was able to award 33 grants totaling $111,000 to 20 different local organizations.  Throughout its history, the Community Foundation has granted over $1.6 million to local organizations.  Julie Hitchens, Executive Director for the Community Foundation of Marshall County, explains how the dollars come from revenues from our state casinos.  She also mentions the dollars could increase as sports gambling was legalized recently in Iowa.  For more information about the Community Foundation of Marshall County you can visit cfmarshallco.org
