Iowa’s Best Pulled Pork contest ran during March Madness as the Iowa Hawkeye ladies made their run in the Big Dance.  They had 16 pulled pork meals across the state that people could vote on to find the best pulled pork meal. Last week was down to the final 2, which were both in Central Iowa.  The Lucky Pig in Ogden and The Flying Elbow in Marshalltown were the two finalist.  It was announced Friday that the Flying Elbow was the winner of the best pulled pork in the state.  The Flying Elbow owned by Garrett Goodman, recently Iowa’s Best Burger in 2022 and now kicks of 2023 with another award.  Pulled pork sandwiches and loaded fries started as more of a periodic feature at The Flying Elbow, and they’ve only been served regularly since last September.
