This summer is a special summer for many central Iowa scouts. It is 100 years of camping at Camp Mitigwa, which is the local summer camp owned and operated by Mid-Iowa Council, Boy Scouts of America.
That was Josh Young, the Camp Director this summer at Camp Mitigwa. Josh has been part of Mitigwa staff for 17 years, while a lot is the same, there have been a few changes.
Camp Mitigwa will have over 1000 scouts visit camp across 6 weeks. Mid-Iowa Council is looking at the next 100 years now and will begin a capital campaign to support Camp Mitigwa. They are in need of a new bathroom facilities with the addition of girls to the program a few years ago.
