Last night the Marshalltown Community School District held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Welcome Center at the Orpheum Theater. The Center will officially open to the public on July 5th, but around 60 people were there yesterday to see and listen to the facility plans. The Welcome Center will be a facility to help orientate families to the Marshalltown Community School District, but also be used as a classroom, museum, and other opportunities with the Black Box Theater and Auditorium. Starting July 5th the Welcome Center will be open Mon – Friday at 7:30am and close most days at 4:30pm, Wednesdays they stay open until 6:30pm.
