The Open Burning period in Marshalltown runs from April 1st until June 30th for the spring/summer months. That means through Friday burning is allowed in the backyard of single-family dwellings from 10am – 7pm. Open burning must be 15 feet from any structure if it in an enclosed container or 50 feet from a structure without a container. Think about wind before you burn anything, if the wind is over 15mph you are unable to burn anything. The period will start up again in the fall on October 1st – November 30th
