Yesterday around 9:45pm, the Marshalltown Fire Department was called to an illegal burn at the 600 block of Roberts Terrace.  When the crew arrived they found heavy smoke in the area between Westwood Drive and Roberts Terrace, they finally discovered coming from the rear of a structure on the 700 block Roberts Terrace.  The Marshalltown Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire quickly and began to search the home.  They found no one home at the time of the fire and no hot spots found either.  The Marshalltown Fire Department was assisted by the Marshalltown Police Department and UnityPoint EMS.  The investigation into this fire is still on-going.
