Kim Elder, Marshall County Emergency Management Coordinator, is at a training in Chicago learning from other communities on how they handle emergencies.  One big part of emergency management is communication and getting the message out.

Elder talks about what is changing in the emergency management field

Technology has allowed us to spot some emergencies sooner than before.  Things like sirens are great for people working outside, and alerts sent directly to your phone are great for the younger generation who spend more time on their phones.
