The University of Iowa announced a fan-favorite tradition will return this football season, The University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital Kid Captains.  The Kid Captains were announced for the full season this week, this is year 14 of this tradition.  Each Kid Captain is a pediatric patient at the local children’s hospital, and their story is highlighted during the game.  The full list is below:

Week 1: Sept. 2 vs. Utah State: Gracelyn Springer, 10, Alburnett, Iowa

Week 2: Sept. 9 at Iowa State: Nile Kron, 6, Iowa City, Iowa

Week 3: Sept. 16 vs. Western Michigan: Maggie Larson, 6, Urbandale, Iowa

Week 4: Sept. 23 at Penn State: Gabby Ford, 17, Fairfield, Iowa

Week 5: Sept. 30 vs. Michigan State: Wyatt Rannals, 9, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Week 6: Oct. 7 vs. Purdue: Max Schlee, 7, Farmersburg, Iowa

Week 7: Oct. 14 at Wisconsin: Madi Ramirez, 17, LeClaire, Iowa

Week 8: Oct. 21 vs. Minnesota: Bentley Erickson, 12, Brainerd, Minn.

Week 10: Nov. 4 at Northwestern: Lincoln Veach, 5, Maquoketa, Iowa

Week 11: Nov. 11 vs. Rutgers: Chloe Dinkla, 10, Winterset, Iowa

Week 12: Nov. 18 vs. Illinois: Cooper Estenson, 11, North Liberty, Iowa
