Friday Nights lights will have a bit of a different meaning this Friday in Marshalltown.  No, the Bobcats do not play on Friday this week, they play Thursday in Cedar Rapids against Jefferson.  This Friday the Marshalltown Community School District is inviting the public out for their Ribbon Cutting and Open House for the new Leonard Cole Stadium Project.  Ribbon cutting will begin at 5:30pm, with an open house running from 6 – 7:30pm.  The project started back in April of this year and a substantial amount will be finished on Thursday August 30^th.  The first home game of the season will take place the following Friday, September 8^th, when Davenport North comes to town.  Recently the Marshalltown Community School District was awarded FEMA money to build a tornado shelter at the stadium as well.  That project will begin later this fall.
