The Iowa Department of Transportation reports 30 people died in crashes that involve farm equipment from 2017 through June 20th, 2022.  Many farmers are now beginning to either think about harvest or start their harvest.  That means more farm equipment will be moving slowing on our roadways.

That is Marshall County Sheriff Joel Phillips, he mentions already seeing soybeans being picked along highway 30.  Phillips mentions that farmers are able to help themselves.

Sheriff Phillips says many of the accidents involving farm equipment happen when a car rear ends the equipment.  Distracted driving and speeding can be a deadly combination.
