This past Friday, the Marshalltown Bobcats visited the Ottumwa Bulldogs for Ottumwa’s Homecoming Football game. At halftime, gunshots were heard near the stadium. While players came back out on the field, the athletic directors, coaches, and referees met at mid field and discussed the situation. They eventually decided to cancel the rest of the game. Marshalltown will be awarded their first win on the year with the game ending at halftime with a score of 44 – 7. The Bobcats had their best game of the season, head coach Adam Goodvin was able to get some of his athletes in space using trick plays. The first play was a handoff pass to former starting QB Xaviyon Anderson. Anderson took the handoff and threw a pass to a streaking Corey Smith who caught his 2nd TD of the year. Then in the 2nd quarter, Goodvin used some trickery again with a hook and ladder from Jacob Hayes to Treshawn Brooks, to Xaviyon Anderson. KFJB will catch up with Coach Goodvin Thursday at Bobcat Live.
