The Marshalltown Community School District took over part of the Orpheum Theater to be their Welcome Center. The school district is inviting the public out from 3 to 4 pm on October 22nd for a dedication and open house for the B.A. Niblock- MCSD Orpheum Theater. A portion of the facility is named after Bea Niblock, who spent 49 years in Iowa public school education. Niblock spent eight years serving on the MCSD School Board, most of which were spent as the board president. She volunteered countless hours of unpaid time to provide the best education for students. Her commitment to board leadership through serving on committees, attending board professional development opportunities, and helping MCSD navigate tough and unique experiences was commendable. Niblock also served 17 years as principal of Anson Elementary School and 24 years as a teacher and principal at other districts. The Open house will be Sunday October 22nd from 3 to 4pm.
