Part of money that Iowa Governor, Kim Reynolds, made available for school safety last year goes towards the program called Safe and Sound Iowa. Don Schnitker is the Bureau Chief with the Governors School Safety Program and he explains further what it is.
Reports can be anything from someone bullying them, or even if they see another student who may harm themselves. Schnitker says the goal of the program is to get to students before bad choices are made.
The website for Safe and Sound Iowa can be found by search Safe and Sound Iowa in google. The first link is for Iowa Department of Public Safety, that website will allow individuals to make a report via the website or phone.
