Recently the Marshalltown Youth Foundation was able to purchase and donate instruments for the Marshalltown Orchestras.  The Youth Foundation was able to purchase 1 bass, 3 cellos, and 5 violins.  Derek Claussen is the Orchestra Director at the Marshalltown Community School District and tells listeners why this donation is special.

Many families will borrow an instrument from the Marshalltown Youth Foundation during their time learning in school.  The cost can be the barrier for students learning how to play.

That is Carrie Barr, a volunteer with the Marshalltown Youth Foundation.  She says that the Musical Instrument Lending Library is one of her favorite things to volunteer for in town.  The Marshalltown Middle School Orchestra will have a concert at the High School Performing Arts Center at 7pm tonight.  They ask for a free will donation
