Yesterdays tragedy highlighted some great systems we have in place to support one another.  One of those systems and organizations is Lifeserve Blood Center.  Lifeserve is the sole provider of blood in Iowa.  When tragedy struck in Perry, Lifeserve has to make sure the right blood is in the right hospital.

That is Shay Willis, Director of PR and Marketing with Lifeserve.  She mentions that they are moving blood and blood products around central Iowa.  The blood products would be blood platelets.

When speaking with Willis yesterday, the first thing she mentioned was thinking about the Perry community.  Willis also makes a call for people to help replenish the blood used.  Visit lifeservebloodcenter.org to find a place to donate blood.
