The Marshalltown Mall has had its issues with owners Kohan Retail Investment Group, as they have not paid their electric bill.  This caused the power to be turned off at the mall, but the businesses that pay their own bill have worked to stay open.  Fridley Plaza 9 Theater in Marshalltown made some major changes just so they can operate.

That is manager of Plaza 9 Theater Karen Albert.  She mentions that they are their own island now with their own hook up to the water and electric.  The updates were all paid for by Fridley Theaters to keep Plaza 9 open.
