January is National Mentoring month, and the Heart of Iowa Big Brothers Big Sisters is a local mentoring program. Lynne Carroll is the executive director and stopped by the KFJB studio this week to tell us more about mentoring.
Carroll says mentors can be that go to person, or someone who says the right thing at the right time. With the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, the mentors are adults or high school students helping young children.
Carroll says that it truly does take a village to raise children. Big Brothers Big Sisters always has children looking for a big, if you want to be a mentor for a local child you can reach out to Lynne by visiting their website heartofiowabigs.org
