The Marshalltown Bobcat basketball teams had a doubleheader against Ottumwa Bulldogs last night.  The girls played first in the Roundhouse, the Bobcats lost 33 – 19.  The Bobcats can hang their hats on the defensive end as they hold Ottumwa to a season low 33 points, but it was turnovers that cost them the game.  In the 4th quarter alone, the Bobcats committed 11 turnovers.  The girls will be back in action on Friday when they take their talents on the road to visit Fort Dodge.  That game will be aired on KFJB-TV

The Boys basketball team had a wild and exciting game last night in the Roundhouse.  The boys also faced the Ottumwa Bulldogs and early it looked like it was all Ottumwa and the Bobcats were in for a long night.  In the 2nd half, head coach for the Bobcats called 1 number, #3 Traeshawn Brooks.  Brooks scored a team high, game high, career high 33 points last night.  Tre rallied the team back and the Bobcats tied the game to push it to overtime.  Brooks scored a total of 25 points in the 2nd half and Overtime, he had all of the Bobcats points in overtime.  Brooks drove the length of the court and hit a buzzer beater 3 pointer to push the game to DOUBLE overtime (Great replay on KFJB-TV).  The Bobcats run out of gas and Ottumwa is able to get the victory 69-68, making some free throws at the end of the game.  The Bobcats will play again on Friday when they also visit Fort Dodge.
