Yesterday during Open Forum, we talked with Marshalltown Community School District Superintendent, Dr. Theron Schutte and Director of Business and Operations Randy Denham.  They spoke about PPEL, and how there are upgrades already happening at some schools.  The High School is getting some upgraded security cameras and those were discussed at the School Board meeting last night.  Amy Harmsen, Director of Technology, suggested to purchase surveillance systems from Convergint.  Convergint is part of a consortium called Tips, and the school district already uses cameras and services with Tips. Harmsen along with Security Coordinator Eric Weeden have already identified which areas will need new cameras and which areas need extra help.
