As of Wednesday, February 28th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.06 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices rose 5 cents from last week’s price and are down 9 cents from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.29, up 2 cents from last week’s price and still 23 cents higher than the average price in Iowa. Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 3 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.80. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.99 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 27 cents lower than the national average of $4.07. Propane prices averaged $1.59 per gallon statewide. Home heating oil prices averaged $3.14 per gallon statewide.
