This weekend is St. Patrick’s Day and not every community is like Sunny Philadelphia who has a mobile ‘Paddy’s Pub Experience’ to get you around.  Iowa’s Governors Traffic Safety Bureau has teamed up with local law enforcement to have extra patrol this weekend.

That is Deputy Jonathan Rogers with the Marshall County Sheriffs Office.  He mentions that last year there were 26 traffic fatalities on Iowa roads last March.  40% of those fatalities happened between March 11th and 19th.  Deputy Rogers says to keep an eye out for your friends as well.

Deputy Rogers urges people to think ahead this weekend and plan a safe sober way to get home if you plan to partake in celebrations.  An easy way to remove the need to drive, find a ride to your location to start.
