Yesterday, a little before 5:30 in the morning, Marshall County Deputies responded to a grain bin that exploded at Mid-Iowa Cooperative at 502 Green Mountain Road. No one was at the when the explosion occurred, but the bin contained over 300,000 bushels of soybeans. The explosion caused half of the office foundation to be pushed over. Green Mountain Road will be closed with barricades until further notice. Civilians are asked to avoid the scene of the cleanup.
No injuries have been reported since the explosion’s occurrence.
