The House of Compassion will be having a Soup Bowl Luncheon as a fundraiser coming up Sunday, March 24th. This event is unique because students at the Marshalltown High School make bowls for the event in Art class. Executive Director of the House of Compassion, Chad Hammer, got to visit the students this year.
Hammer says that people get to keep the bowl they use at the event. He says there are people who come year after year just to add a bowl to their collection. Hammer says he was able to get some live music from a young performer and friends
While Hammer couldn’t get her to play that day on short notice, with the help of her mother, she played last year and will be back again this year. Check out the Soup Bowl Luncheon this Sunday, March 24th from 11 – 1pm at First Methodist Church.
