The Marshalltown Community School District School Board met last night, and one topic of discussion was the make up day of the 1 snow day Marshalltown had in January. Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Theron Schutte, first mentions the student contact hours far exceed what is required even without making up this 1 day.

Dr. Schutte mentions that he typically waits until after spring break to have this conversation as “usually” we are pass the inclement weather for the school year.

Dr. Schutte says he worked with the Business Administrator, Randy Denham, and they will also pay the hourly staff for that full day too.
