Another fun event last night was taking place at the Elmwood Country Club, it was the Whiskey and Wine event for Mid-Iowa Council, Boy Scouts of America. Not only was this a fundraiser for Scouting, but it was also a celebration of a 20 year career in Scouting for Todd Eipperle. Eipperle is a Marshalltown native who has served our country on multiple tours and spent time giving back to his community through scouting. The event last night was raising money for the first year camper program at Camp Mitigwa, which is being renamed, ‘The Eipperle Proving Grounds.’ With a silent auction going on, a live auction of wheelbarrows full of wine or whiskey, the total raised was $20,500 and counting. Mid-Iowa Council is looking to add shelters and boost their bathrooms for the Eipperle Proving Grounds with the money raised. You can learn more about scouting at scoutingiowa.org
