This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week, Kim Elder, Marshall County Emergency Management Coordinator, stopped by the KFJB studio to let us know what is happening. She first mentions that each day has a theme. Tuesday was tornado safety and the sirens went off at 9am per usual.
The Emergency Alert System will also be tested today, you will hear that over our airways around 10 and 10:15 this morning. It is just a test, just like the weekly tests done. A lot of this week is about educating the public.
Thursday’s theme is about rain and hail, while Friday will be all about floods and flood water. Ready.iowa.gov is a great place for resources to help prepare yourself and family for severe weather.
