Marshalltown Community College (MCC) has appointed Matt Schmit as its new Provost, effective June 3, 2024. Schmit brings extensive experience in higher education leadership, currently serving at Eastern Iowa Community College. With a background in logistics, he holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration from Iowa State University. Dr. Anne Howsare Boyens, President of Iowa Valley Community College District, expresses excitement for Schmit’s leadership. The current Provost, Dr. Robin Shaffer Lilienthal, announces her retirement after 23 years of service.
