Emily Herring, Marshall County Conservation Director, was a guest on KFJB’s Central Iowa Today last week. She mentioned that the County Conservation would be doing their night prairie burn sometime this week.
Herring says they use this as a management tool to help fight invasive species that may end up out in our prairies. She says the weather needs to be right to do a burn.
Knowing that, and looking at the weather this week, Herring and her team made the decision to postpone the night prairie burn by 1 week. Call out to the nature center next Monday or listen to KFJB for what night the night burn will take place.
