With the warmer weather, people are out mowing their yards and cleaning up gearing up for summer activities.  It is illegal in the city of Marshalltown to blow your grass clippings onto the roads.

That is Public Works Director Heather Thomas, she mentions that the grass can also cause the storm drains to plug up and could cause some flooding.

The grass clippings can make the roadways feel like ice when riding a motorcycle or bike.  Keep our neighbors safe and make sure your grass clippings are off the roadways.
