The Marshalltown Area United Way raised over $825,000 last year, and to get to a goal that big, it takes a lot of planning. Throughout the year there are different events, like the golf tournament or Power of the Purse. Executive Director Kendra Sorenson and Events and Marketing Manager, Michelle Roseburrough tell listeners some key dates, first mentioning that Power of the Purse date.
Sorenson mentioned that a committee member pointed out last year that National Handbag Day is in October, and it lines up with the Power of the Purse event this year. Roseburrough then mentions another fun event
That event is happening September 10th, and their campaign kickoff date will happen 1 week later on September 17th. Lots of events happening to make the 2024 United Way Campaign successful
