When the afternoon is a nice sunny day, you can hear the motorcycles rumbling out on our roadways. We are officially in motorcycle and bicycle season and May is Motorcycle Awareness Month.
That is Marshalltown Police Chief, Mike Tupper, who also stresses for drivers to stay off of their phones while driving. Now is a great time to review the rules of the road for youth who are out riding their bicycles as well. He then talks about the riders and wearing helmets.
Wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle isn’t the law, but it is heavily encouraged. As Chief Tupper said, he has seen helmets save lives.
