Next weekend is truly the clean up weekend in Marshalltown as there are multiple free drop offs going on. Heather Thomas, Marshalltown Public Works Director, talks about the different drop offs happening Saturday, May 18th.
Thomas says that the compost facility will also have someone on site to help with large loads, which normally only happens on Fridays. She then mentions items people can drop off at the household hazardous material drop off happening at the water pollution plant just around the corner.
These hazardous materials drop off is open to anyone in Marshall County. They will be accepting materials from 8am to 11am. Finally, there is 1 more drop off event happening Saturday, May 18th.
Thomas says they will not accept tires, asbestos contained material, anything recyclables, appliances, and trailers. This junk drop off is 8am to 11am at Riverview Park near the tennis courts.
